We’ve Been Robbed!
It’s something none of us want to think about. The intrusion of a burglar into our home is a violation of our privacy and safety. You are especially vulnerable if you are not a full-time resident in your home. According to asecurelife.com, there is a burglary somewhere in the United States every 15 seconds which accounted for over $4.7 billion in property losses last year.
Here are some other sobering statistics:
65% of burglaries happen between 6am and 6pm (when no one is home)
The average loss per burglary in the US last year was $2,230
34% of burglars enter through the front door
The master bedroom was the first destination over 60% of the time
The average time a burglar spends in your home is 8-12 minutes
This is why it is so important to have regular inspections of your home on a weekly basis. You need to give the appearance that the home has activity and is occupied. You also want to make sure someone is checking the alarm system regularly and attending to any issues that might indicate the home is not being lived in. (i.e. packages and mail stacking up or unattended landscaping)
Your home is your castle. Protect it like one!
